Heraklith® panels showcased at the Knauf Insulation Experience Center
When Knauf Insulation designed their new European Experience and Training Centre in Slovenia, they carefully chose the very best examples of products and materials to demonstrate the wide range of materials and products available for the building and construction sector.
Heraklith® Wood Wool panels have been integrated into the building as a best practice example of using natural materials renowned for their exceptional combination of properties. They are recognised for their excellent noise absorption, superb thermal insulation, strength and durability, and outstanding fire resistance; as well as for their unique appearance and pleasing aesthetics.
The Challenge
The idea to construct a Knauf Insulation Experience Center was to provide both a practical showcase for Knauf Insulation products, as well as a training centre where owners, architects and builders can visit to see how the latest technology is being used to ensure cost-effective and sustainable construction.
The products and methods on show at the Center need to inspire visiting construction professionals from around the world and must, therefore, be best in class, highly effective, and have impeccable environmental credentials.
The solution
Heraklith® Wood Wool panels were chosen for one of the facades of the Experience Center, to showcase their excellent acoustic and thermal insulation properties.

The two-storey building houses a Demonstration experience on the ground floor and training rooms on the first floor.
The entire building is characterised by extremely good heat and acoustic insulation. Heat insulation of specific construction sections is approximately 50% above the statutory requirements, while the Center itself is classified as a near-zero-energy building.
